On September 28, a senior delegation from Uganda’s leading drone enterprise, including our own firm, marked a significant moment for African innovation by visiting Yifei . The purpose was clear: to engage in a deep exchange on the future of drone technology application, air traffic control system construction, and low-altitude economic development. This visit was not just a courtesy call; it was a mission to find the most sophisticated, compliant, and replicable solutions to accelerate Uganda’s potential.

Perceiving Strength: The Power of Agile Deployment

Our tour of the Yifei Intelligent Control exhibition hall immediately showcased their technological edge. We were particularly impressed by the “Agile Honeycomb” drone formation system. This system, powered by an intelligent planning algorithm and a self-built coordinate system, drastically improves flight efficiency and, critically for our needs, reduces the required operational space by a remarkable 80% compared to traditional systems.

This efficient, low-space deployment capability is perfectly suited for the beautiful, yet often constrained, performance venues across Uganda. We foresee its immediate application in boosting our local cultural and tourism industry and invigorating the growing night economy, offering world-class entertainment that drives regional growth and enhances the country’s international influence.

Building the Blueprint: Our Core Demand for a National System

The heart of our exchange, however, focused on our core national priority: building a low-altitude management system platform tailored to Uganda’s unique national conditions.

The Yifei Intelligent Control team delivered clear, replicable technical references that provide a concrete blueprint for our platform construction. We learned about several critical solutions that directly address our operational and safety needs:

  • Cluster Control Technology: Demonstrated the capacity to dispatch up to 100,000 drones simultaneously with millisecond-level synchronization, offering a robust model for large-scale, future national operations.
  • Adaptive Flight Control System: This independently developed system is essential for our diverse landscape, enabling precise control and intelligent decision-making that can be adapted across critical national scenarios, from smart city development to sophisticated security inspections.
  • Full-Link Safety System: Safety and airspace control are paramount. Yifei’s approach—utilizing multiple redundant communication backups, emergency parachutes, and three-dimensional electronic fence technology—provides triple protection that meets our most stringent requirements for low-altitude reliability.
  • Standardized Operation System: Their comprehensive, full-process experience, covering lightweight hardware design to intelligent software operation and maintenance, offers us a fast track to establishing a standardized system for efficient equipment management and safety control.

As the head of our delegation noted, these technical details are exactly the practical experience needed to structure and build a world-class, functional air traffic control platform. The clarity of China’s system construction ideas provides an invaluable reference.
